After a competitive procurement process AB Transitio have signed a contract with Trimble for the supply of a new fleet and asset management system based on the Trimble Nexala E2M system. The new system, known as the Future Fleet Management System (FFS), will be used by AB Transitio and by regional transport authorities across Sweden.
The new system will be used for fleet management of trains, trams and small passenger ferries, and will support all requirements in the European system of certification for ECMs as defined in EU Regulation 2019/779. The new system will also meet the network and information security requirements contained in the EU NIS Directive 2022/2555 as well as those in the relevant Swedish national legislation.
System implementation will start in August 2023, and includes delivery of hardware and software, system configuration, data migration from legacy systems and full user and system management training. Full commissioning is planned to be completed by the end of 2024, with an initial operating capability available from early 2024.
